Mississippi Chapter Receives ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award
ALBUQUERQUE – The Mississippi Chapter has received the Government Activities Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) at the Society’s 2010 Annual Conference held here June 26-30.
The award recognizes an ASHRAE chapter for outstanding effort and achievement in state, provincial and local government activities in connection with technical issues related to the activities of the Society.
The chapter worked to provide technical assistance to local and state governments, particularly regarding Standard 90.1 and high-performance buildings. Highlights include a successful government activities themed chapter meeting using the ASHRAE Learning Institute Standard 90.1 seminar. This included assisting in developing a state compliance document for new state buildings to meet or exceed Standard 90.1-2004 by 30 percent using the performance rating method.
